Hajnal Csorba is a Canadian Fine Artist. She had just turned ten when in the fall of 1956 she escaped Hungary (during the Hungarian Revolution) with her parents and took the difficult trip to Canada over mountains and ocean.
In Canada, her high school teachers recognized her drawing ability. She was encouraged to study art and prepared to do so but she married early and was soon blessed with five children. Pursuing an art career became a difficult and lonely path. Canadian Native art and the ocean’s beautiful underwater colour-scape, birds, shells and fish influenced her work. Besides painting, she likes to work with pencils, oil pastels, charcoal, textiles and glass paints.
Later in life she studied architectural drawing and has created many model sites. She also enjoyed working at the annual Toronto Santa Claus Parade creating exciting Christmas floats.
In Canada, Hajnal (pronounced Haynal) exhibited her work in Toronto in 1995. She returned to visit Hungary for the first time in 1977 and had an exhibition in Budapest in February 2003. Her drawings are in fine Hungarian art magazines and poetry books such as “Klaris” and “Klaris Antologia”. She continues to pursue her artistic interests today in any medium that will lend itself.
Presently, Hajnal is employed in Real Estate at "Right at Home Realty" in Toronto, Canada and enjoys helping people find the right home. You many contact Hajnal (Dawn) by visiting her website HouseHuntingToronto.com.
